I have downloaded Quicken 2016 to El Capitan and now my previous Quicken documents cannot be opened. Do I need to download Quicken 7 first? I had Quicken 2002 on my computer before.

I have downloaded Quicken 2016 to El Capitan and now my previous Quicken documents cannot be opened. Do I need to download Quicken 7 first? I had Quicken 2002 on my computer before.

I am currently running a iMac (2008) which has been upgraded to a 4 GB memory and upgraded to El Capitan 10.11.6. I purchased and downloaded Quicken 2016 software from the Mac App store because my quicken documents would not open once El Capitan was downloaded. Should I have downloaded a Quicken 2007 version first. Looking for instruction on next step so I can open my other Quicken documents. Also, it will come up set up a new intuit account, what is this?

No idea, if Intuit can't figure out their file formats I sure can't, have you asked them yet?

Yes, using the chat function at Quicken Support purchase the Intel version of Quicken 2007 for about $15 and be sure to update it to the latest version once installed.

This version will open your PPC Quicken 2007 data file directly.
